Drawing a Hairdo, Hat, Moustache and Beard for Animation Character
Hairdos, hats, moustaches and beards – all that plays a great role in creation of a character. Put on a cartoon character a cowboy hat and any person will easily recognise who it is and what he does.
One should always start with the basic pattern, and only then add a hairdo and other details. If you remember that, you can avoid a lot of mistakes and save some time. Let’s draw a sheriff, for example.
It is seen in different positions, that the hairline replicates the head shape and slips into side-whiskers and beard.

Cylinder as the basis of a drawing Conventionalized variant of construction, which consists of eyes area and jaws, - it is cylinder. Cylinder can also be rotated, as a globe or a sphere, but it doesn’t resemble an anatomical structure of the head. Nevertheless, don’t be afraid to explore. |

The heads, created on the cylinder basis, are not supposed to be narrow. The cylinder can be extensive, short, long or thin. |
|
Minify the forehead and soften the jaw line, in order the head not be rectangular. |
